The Ultimate Latter-Day-Saint Bride Wedding Guide

The planning process can be overwhelming and exhausting, so why not make it a little easier with a wedding guid? I’ve created this step by step guide to provide you with the ultimate LDS wedding planner. Planning an LDS wedding can be so different than other weddings, and it involves a few extra steps, so to make it easier for you I’ve created a step-by-step guide for planning your special day! This wedding planner includes the following:

1.A Six Month Timeline Planner

I designed this timeline checklist specifically for brides who are expecting a short engagement. Sometimes, things get in the way like school, work, and family obligations, so you don’t always have the luxury of planning a wedding with a 12-month engagement. This guide breaks down all the steps whether you are on a six month or one month timeline. With this timeline, you won’t miss anything along the way of your planning process.

2. Two Week Checklist

This guide also includes a two week checklist planner, so you can have everything you need ready two weeks before your wedding date. This helps you avoid the hassle of running those frantic last minute errands the week of your wedding. You want to be able to enjoy your wedding week and feel calm going into your special day.

3. Temple Checklist

This was something I wish I had on my wedding day. Temple weddings are so unique and knowing what you need to bring and have ready for your temple sealing is crucial. This checklist gives you a list of all the things you need to bring to the temple for your ceremony and after for your temple exit.

4. Ceremony & Reception Checklist

Perhaps you’re having a simple ring ceremony as well. This can be a lot to remember, so this checklist also provides you a list of the necessities for your ceremony and reception, so nothing gets forgotten or missed.

5. Photographer Checklist

This was something I was so grateful I had for my wedding day! A photographer checklist is great for the brides who have specific shots they want to capture. I have a very large family, and I was worried that I might forget to get specific shots with family members, so I created this list to help me and my photographer get all the family shots! This way nothing gets missed on the wedding day.  Not only did it ensure I got all the shots I wanted with my family, but it also helped keep the photos running smoothly.

6. Timeline Template

I didn't realize how crucial a timeline is on your wedding day. By mapping out the entire day, it not only ensures that everything goes smoothly, but it also helps you think critically about your personal timeline for your wedding day and your guests’ timeline. It also helps you identify any awkward gaps throughout the day.

For example, after my husband and I were sealed in the morning on our wedding day. Afterwards, we took a couple hours to take photos in front of the temple; however once we were complete with photos around 12:00 pm, we had nowhere to go until our reception that was planned for 5:00 pm that evening. This is definitely something you want to avoid. We eventually decided to meet up with some friends and family after and hangout until the reception started, but it was still an awkward gap in the timeline and something I wish I would’ve thought through beforehand.

7. Vendor Contact Page

After working in the wedding industry as a wedding planner for a few years, I discovered how crucial a vendor contact page is. This is a page that lists all of your wedding vendors along with their arrival time and contact information. I’ve seen several instances where a vendor is running late or we need to get a hold of the vendor for questions. As a bride, you are going to be so busy on your wedding day and you will be so focused on your celebration that you won’t have the time to contact your vendors that day if something goes amiss. That’s why it’s so important to have a vendor contact page and give it to a family member,  friend, or planner the day of the wedding so they can handle all communication between your vendors.

8. Budget Worksheet

A budget is so important to ensure you’re not overspending on your wedding. You want to make sure that you find your happy medium place in the budget where you know exactly where all the money is going. Nothing is worse than realizing you’ve overspent on your wedding day, especially if it means you have nothing left for your honeymoon. Creating a budget not only helps you keep track of the flow of the money, but it also ensures you’re not spending a ridiculous amount in one category of the wedding.

9. Guest List Tracker

This is a must when you are planning your wedding, whether you're getting married at a venue or in your backyard, you’re going to want to make sure you are keeping track of your RSVP’s. You want to make sure you have enough food, seating, table placement, glassware for your guests!

10. Seating Layout

Not only is it important to have a guest list of who will be attending your wedding, but it is also so important to make sure you have a seating layout. It’s courteous to your guests and it also makes sure families are able to be seated together. It also helps avoid any awkward seating gaps.
